UVA Health has recently unveiled its expanded Cancer Care Pantops facility in Albemarle County, Virginia, marking a significant step forward in delivering patient-centered oncology services. The new center features 14 exam rooms and 25 infusion chairs, with plans to grow to 40 chairs by the end of 2025. Designed to streamline care delivery, the facility consolidates consultations, infusions, and pharmacy services under one roof—enhancing convenience, reducing travel between appointments, and supporting a more integrated outpatient cancer care experience.
The interior design of the Pantops facility places a strong emphasis on comfort, calm, and healing. Large windows flood the space with natural light and offer peaceful views of the surrounding trees, helping to reduce stress and promote wellness. Throughout both waiting and infusion areas, patients and their loved ones are supported with comfortable reclining chairs, soft furnishings, and thoughtful spatial planning that fosters privacy and relaxation during treatment.
Finishes and materials were carefully selected to contribute to a soothing and contemporary environment. A soft blue and cream color palette sets the tone for serenity, while geometric felt wall accents add texture and warmth. Transparent glass walls maintain openness without sacrificing separation, and curated artwork throughout the facility brings visual interest and emotional comfort. Together, these design elements underscore UVA Health’s commitment to creating environments that nurture both physical healing and emotional well-being.
