Associate Principal | Project Director

Alex offers architectural design and project management experience in healthcare facilities ranging from patient towers, cancer centers and ambulatory surgery centers. He supports an engaged design process allowing for consensus building while leading multidisciplinary design teams to successfully deliver therapeutic healthcare environments. Alex believes the built environment surrounding patient care truly affects the outcome of one’s healing journey and strives to provide that in each one of his projects. His love of architecture and design stemmed from an early age while volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and he still hones his skills working on hands-on projects today.

Gregory Chang, FAIA, NCARB, LEEDap, cLSGB

Partner

Greg is an architect and medical planner with more than 30 years of experience designing innovative complex healthcare projects across the US, MENA and Asia. His design process creates inspirational spaces that are community-focused and validated with operational process improvements. Greg is a partner at Wilmot Sanz, previously he was a principal at Perkins + Will, AECOM and Ellerbe Becket. He is currently on the Board for the AIA|DC chapter and the Board of Visitors for The Catholic University of America – School of Architecture, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a recipient of the Building Design + Construction (BD+C) 40-under-40 award, a distinguished guest critic at Penn State University, and his work has won numerous awards and publications. A registered architect in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York, Greg holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Catholic University of America, is a certified LEAN Sigma Green Belt in Healthcare from Johns Hopkins Medicine, and a LEED accredited professional. He enjoys running, traveling and spending time with his family.

Jenna is an experienced architect specializing in medical planning for a wide range of healthcare institutions. Her focus has helped the firm improve processes offering direct impacts to design and programming effecting positive patient care. She works to understand a clients’ vision and how it influences decisions while also taking care to nurture small design details. She admires the way healthcare effects patients, healthcare workers and neighborhood stakeholders and how that positively impacts local communities.

Jim serves as the firms’ Design Director, providing innovation planning and design solutions in healthcare design. His experience ranges from outpatient clinics and cancer centers to new hospitals and healthcare campuses. Notable for their responsiveness to the functional requirements of healthcare delivery and emphasis on the needs and dignity of patients, his designs complement their surroundings and promote environmental sustainability.

Kristen DelGandio, CHID, NCIDQ, IIDA

Partner | Design Director

As Interior Design Director for Wilmot Sanz, Kristen leads a collaborative and multidisciplinary studio, developing innovative, research-based design solutions. She is an expert in health system brand promotion and creatively repositioning and modernizing existing assets. Kristen has led transformative design projects for leading academic medical systems such as Inova Health System, the University of Maryland Medical System, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Lumbani Ngwira

Architectural Designer

Lumbani serves as an architectural designer with an approach driven by functionality, sustainability and technical excellence. During his time at Wilmot Sanz, he has performed duties as a project architect, project designer, and construction administrator on many healthcare redevelopment and fit-out renovation projects. He draws inspiration from the outdoors with hopes that his designs invoke visceral feelings of community and sense of place.

Miguel brings decades of architectural and project management experience at Wilmot Sanz, specializing in healthcare facilities ranging from patient towers, ambulatory surgery centers and medical office buildings. He leads high-performance, multidisciplinary design teams in developing seamless construction documents and successfully delivers projects on time and on budget. He supports the firm in promoting top-to-bottom staffing from start to finish to improve the quality of project outcomes.
