Celebrating 2024 Promotions

In addition to Rob Sanz being named Partner last week, we are also thrilled to announce the promotion of Jenna Maier to Associate Principal and Andrew Bowers to Principal. At Wilmot Sanz, we value and reward our employees’ dedication, drive, and enthusiasm for healthcare design. Both Jenna and Andrew contribute to the leadership of this firm through design, management, mentorship, and office culture and have received the prestigious Rising Star Award from Healthcare Design Magazine. Here’s your chance to get to know them better.

Jenna Maier

Jenna Maier, Associate Principal

Jenna Maier is an experienced medical planner offering a decade of experience in not only designing concepts for new healthcare experiences but also working through operational processes with her favorite clients.

“I love my clients, helping them come together to find solutions that support their operations but also programming spaces that help them work better. I work to deliver the most efficient designs possible that encourage collaboration and spaces that make sense for the clinicians and staff delivering patient care.”

As an Associate Principal, Jenna looks forward to impacting the firm in positive ways in her project work and in its culture. Her support and mentorship for her colleagues goes unmatched and she looks forward to growing professional development opportunities for the firm.

Jenna Maier, AIA, cLSGB, EDAC, holds a BArch from Virginia Tech, is a registered architect, is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified, and has earned her accreditation and certification in Evidence Based Design from the Center for Health Design. She was honored with the Rising Star Award from Healthcare Design Magazine in 2022.

Andrew BowersAndrew Bowers, Principal

Andrew Bowers is a seasoned project manager and medical planner managing a wide variety of our healthcare portfolio with a focus on behavioral health and mental health projects. His involvement in projects is soup to nuts from pre-design phases to closeout and post-occupancy evaluations, including management and design leadership.

“My focus on behavioral health hits home for me. More than one in five people in the U.S. suffer from mental health challenges. Through these needed spaces, I want to destigmatize this issue and provide environments that are empowering and dignified for the patients while being on the forefront of safety.”

Andrew continues to nurture and inspire passion among the next generation of healthcare designers and is determined to convince new professionals that healthcare is where you want to be.

“In healthcare design, you can experience the design of multiple typologies. Take for example a hospital transformation project, you have hospitality in the patient rooms, civic in the expansive atriums and concourses, retail in the cafeterias and gift shops and workplace in office administrative areas…and so much more. It’s building a micro city under one roof, and I consider it very rewarding.”

Andrew looks forward to continuing his design leadership in creating environments that empower healing in whatever form that may be.

Andrew Bowers, AIA, LEED AP, cLSGB, EDAC, holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, is a registered architect and LEED accredited professional, is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified and has earned his accreditation and certification in Evidence Based Design from the Center for Health Design. He was honored with the Rising Star Award from Healthcare Design Magazine in 2020.
