Wilmot Sanz is pleased to share that Alex Berman, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C has joined the firm as a Project Director. Alex is a talented healthcare architect with a well-rounded background in project management, business development, and firm operations. A thoughtful collaborator, he leads diverse, multidisciplinary teams that successfully deliver transformational healthcare campus expansion and modernization projects for clients across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Alex joins Wilmot Sanz from a national healthcare architectural firm, where he led the Washington, D.C. studio. He is licensed in Maryland, DC, and Virginia, and is a LEED accredited professional. Having worked previously with the firm for several years earlier in his career, Alex is no stranger to Wilmot Sanz and its approach as a high-performing, 100% specialized healthcare design practice.

Over the course of his 16+ year career, Alex’s project experience spans a diverse range of project typologies, scales, settings, and clients. He has been instrumental in developing designs for and delivering large and complex additions and multi-phased campus renovations that reposition legacy assets and outpatient clinics for academic medical center, regional health system, and community hospital clients alike. Specifically, Alex’s work includes major, impactful projects for Adventist HealthCare, Rockville, MD, Inova Health System, Falls Church, VA, University of Virginia Health, Charlottesville, VA, and for MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and Children’s National Hospital, Washington, DC.
