New integrated patient tower

Inova Fairfax Hospital is one of the premier healthcare facilities in the Washington, DC area. Wilmot Sanz has worked with the hospital to develop a Master Facilities Plan that addresses the evolving healthcare needs of the region, and the firm has recently completed two building projects (the Heart & Vascular Institute and the Surgery Department) included in the plan.

The new 216,000-SF South Patient Tower—a major part of the master plan—adds 174 inpatient beds, which will significantly alleviate overcrowding in the existing tower building. Five floors are dedicated to med/surg beds and three floors to ICU beds.

Completion of the new patient tower will enable the master planned expansion of the Women's Hospital on campus.
