A state-of-the-art research
and treatment facility for one of the nation's leading heart centers
The Inova Heart and Vascular Institute at Fairfax Hospital has
been nationally recognized for its leading work in cardiology and
cardiac surgery for children and adults. The center is one of only
25 heart programs in the United States. The new Inova Heart and
Vascular Institute expands the center's mission in both education,
research, and treatment programs; and features cutting-edge design
and advanced technology.
Design of the regional facility includes a new 156-bed tower on
the west side of the hospital's campus. Within the tower, 48 beds
are committed to cardiac ICU patients, and 108 beds are reserved
for cardiac telemetry patients. The project also includes three
EP labs and eight cath labs, with a 36-cubicle holding and recovery
area. A three-level, circular atrium lobby serves as a focal point
for the institute, providing a vibrant, welcoming space to orient
patients and visitors.
