2015 Master Plan

Wilmot Sanz has been identified as the master plan architect for the Inova Health System, and has provided master plan services for all their hospitals. Over the last 14 years we have worked with the facilities development staff at Inova Fairfax Hospital to implement the original long-range master plan and provide periodic updates as the master plan evolved. The projects completed under the original long-range plan include; the Radiology/In-Fill Project, Surgery Consolidation/Expansion Project, Trauma Center Expansion/Renovation Project, Inova Heart Institute and we are currently completing the planning on the new Health Education Center that will provide a state-of-the-art health education and simulation center for undergraduate and graduate medical students.

We are currently working on the 2015 Master Plan that envisions redevelopment of the remaining campus along a new entry boulevard in a "Centers of Excellence" concept. This long range master plan concept will allow the campus to continue to grow while creating an identifiable front door for their key centers of care. The new expansion will include new medical/surgical beds to allow the existing bed tower to be renovated, a new 200+ bed Women's Hospital and a 100 Basinet Level III NICU.
