Master Plan

Wilmot Sanz in conjunction with General Electric Medical and Information Technology Systems has been contracted to develop the “all digital” East Valley Heart Hospital for Sun Medical Management.

East Valley will be GE’s flagship project, highlighting true “state of the art” advances in digital technology applications and their total integration into a healthcare environment. With East Valley Sun Medical will position itself, nationwide, at the cutting edge of high tech cardiac care.

The 185,000 square foot, three story facility will include 64 licensed beds with a third floor shell space for future beds. 16 beds will be committed to cardiac ICU patients, and 48 beds will be reserved for cardiac telemetry patients. For increased flexibility all of the patient rooms will be designed as universal rooms and supported by a decentralized nursing concept . Along with an Outpatient Cardiac Center the project incorporates two cardiovascular operating rooms and three cath labs, each with attached shell space for future expansion within the building. A 14-cubicle short stay unit has ten beds with outside exposure allowing for future licensing opportunities. Full service imaging and a ten bay emergency department complete the compliment of care delivery services. The project is designed to allow for future CVOR additions and a doubling of the cath labs along with a 48 bed tower expansion providing a future total of 136 beds.
