Expansion of a community hospital emergency department

The 2010 Project at Calvert Memorial Hospital has completely renovated and added to the existing Emergency Department and Laboratory.

Thirty-two treatment rooms are arranged in two care pods sharing support space and dedicated imaging. The project also realizes an outpatient concourse connecting the Emergency and Main Hospital Entrances. A new ICU will provide state of the art critical care with maximum visibility from the staff work areas.

Expansion and relocation of a community hospital surgery department

An earlier expansion of Calvert Memorial Hospital relocated and expanded the surgery department with a dedicated, convenient ambulatory patient entrance on the first level and a new central processing department contiguous to surgery on the basement level.

The basement addition also included a new boardroom and conference center with an exterior courtyard.

The relocation of the surgery department enabled the hospital to move forward with the expansion and renovation of its existing obstetrical/post-partum units. The units include five new labor and delivery rooms, a C-section room, a new nursery and private rooms for the post-partum nursing unit.
