Surgery department upgrade and major renovation

This project consolidated inpatient and outpatient surgery and upgraded the existing Surgery Department. The modernized facility includes 12 new outpatient surgery rooms, two new cysto rooms, two new transplant rooms, and two new cardiovascular operating rooms. The project also includes a new ambulatory services lobby and entrance.

The existing operating rooms, which were undersized, were subsequently renovated into eight inpatient surgery rooms designed and sized to allow for the medical and technological advances of the future.

The project resulted in improved patient access to inpatient and outpatient surgery areas, and improved staff nad material flows between outpatient surgery, cardiac surgery, and inpatient surgery. A new central sterile supply department, outpatient processing areas, and renovations to the inpatient holding and recovery areas were also included.
