Additions and renovations to
a community hospital birthing center
The expansion and renovation of the Prince William Hospital Birthing
Center completes the first phase of an ambitious master plan
for the revitalization of the 170-bed community hospital. The design
of the new birthing center emphasizes family involvement in the
labor and delivery experience.
The project includes large private rooms, family waiting areas,
and NICU stations designed to enable mothers and families to participate
in the care of infants. The expanded birthing center features
eight labor and delivery rooms, a four-bassinet transition nursery,
two full-term infant nurseries with 12 and 14 bassinets, a 12-bassinet
NICU, and 32 post-partum/ante-partum rooms.
