A comprehensive modernization and expansion of the hospital's emergency department, NICU, labor and delivery department and ICU

The renovation and expansion of Howard County General Hospital will enable the hospital to increase its services within the community while also improving its existing building systems and facilities. A major addition will provide a new 47-bay emergency department, a 6-bed pediatric inpatient nursing unit, a 17-bed neonatal intensive care unit, a 12-bed labor and delivery suite, and expanded facilities for maintenance and engineering. The renovations will create a new 16-bed intensive care unit and an expanded imaging department. The modernization also includes upgrades to the hospital's mechanical/electrical systems.
